Piney Woods Music & Arts Festival – The Piney Woods Music & Arts Festival is March 23-24, 2018 on Historic Camp Street, Crockett Texas. Admission on Saturday is FREE!!  There will be BBQ, beer garden & live music on an outdoor stage with arts & crafts vendors and lots of kids' activities. April 7 2018 - Foraging with Merriwether, 9:00am to 4:30pm, 1649 State Hwy 21 W, ALTO, Texas  75925. It is that time again! Caddo Mounds State Historic Site invites the public to a foraging workshop with Mark “Merriwether” Vorderbruggen. Mark writes the Foraging Texas Blog, http://www.foragingtexas.com/ and is a practiced forager and teacher. This exciting workshop is sponsored by the Friends of Caddo Mounds, Inc. There is a $50 charge for the program, and the fee includes a tour of the Caddo Mounds Site. Space is limited, and the program fee must be paid in advance. Call 936-858-3218 to hold your space.

Apr 14 2018 - Caddo Culture Day, 10:00am to 3:00pm, 1649 State Hwy 21 W, ALTO, Texas  75925  Experience Caddo culture through a number of activities planned for Saturday, April 14, at the Caddo Mounds State Historic Site. Activities include live performances of Caddo Indian music and dance.  Cameras are permitted and lawn chairs and/or blankets are encouraged. Admission is free, but donations to the Friends of Caddo Mounds, Inc. are appreciated. Ample parking is provided.

May 5 2018 - Annual Davy Crockett Festival – Downtown Crockett on the Square, 10 am - 4 pm. Entertainment, Food, Art & Craft vendors, 5K Walk/Run and Car show. Come join the fun!

May 10-12 2018 - Crockett Lions Club PRCA Rodeo –The Crockett Lions Club PRCA Rodeo is held in Crockett, Texas at the Porth Ag Arena. It is sanctioned by PRCA. 


May 19 2018 - Piney Woods Fine Arts Association Youth Talent Showcase – Crockett Civic Center 7:30 pm. One of Piney Woods longest traditions is the Houston County Youth Talents Showcase.  Started in 1991, Piney Woods has produced this annual event for the youth of Houston County and their families.  Each year students are invited to audition for this performing arts showcase held at the Crockett Civic Center.  Students present a variety of dances, vocal, instrumental and theatrical performances.  Visit www.pwfaa.org for more information about this event and other fine arts events scheduled throughout the year.

Piney Woods Fine Arts Association Summer Lightnin’ Series – The Piney Woods Fine Arts present this series of free concerts every Thursday in June at J.B. & Kathryn Sallas Amphitheatre at Arnold Park, Crockett. These shows have something for everyone from blues musicians and rockabilly to Tex-Mex rock-n-roll. 4th of July Parade – On the Square in Downtown Crockett at 10:00 a.m. Sponsored by the Crockett Downtown Beautification Committee. Festivities during parade include homemade ice cream & fruit pie competition, and concession stand with hotdogs and cold drinks.

Annual 4th of July Boat Parade and Fireworks Display at Houston County Lake – Decorated boat parade. Everyone who has anything that floats can enter, from a canoe to a boat. Prizes from “Most Original through “Best of Show”. $5 entry fee. Large fireworks display with great viewing from your boat or on the shoreline.

Crockett Area Chamber of Commerce’s largest and most exciting event is the Annual Christmas in Crockett Arts and Crafts Festival.
